Aces Over Wright Field

The Event

The Aces Over Wright Field event will be held during the Dawn Patrol Rendezvous at the National Museum of the United States Air Force in Dayton, Ohio, from Friday, September 23, 2011, through Sunday, September 25, 2011, and it will be free to the public. The hours of the event will be from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for all three days of the show. Volunteers from Virtual Aces will be on hand to demonstrate virtual World War I combat, and to provide instruction to members of the public who wish to participate in this truly interactive program. The Dawn Patrol Rendezvous

One of the nation’s premier historical aviation events will bring the excitement and adrenaline of World War I air power to the National Museum of the United States Air Force September 23 - 25, 2011. The Dawn Patrol Rendezvous World War I Fly-In will feature vintage original and reproduction World War I aircraft flying over the museum, with aircraft launching from and landing on the museum’s rear field. The event will feature full scale and 7/8-scale war birds such as the Nieuport, Fokker DR-1 triplane, SE.5 and Curtiss JN4D Jenny. Pilots will perform precision flying in the skies above the museum and will compete in flour-bombing and balloon-busting competitions.

Aces Over Wright Field LAN Party

In order to participate in the Aces Over Wright Field LAN party you must be able to bring your computer, monitor, speakers or head set, joystick, and all related cables. Your computer must also have a Network Interface Card (NIC) installed to be connected to the network. The LAN party runs from 9:00 a.m. Friday, September 23, 2011, until 5:00 p.m. Sunday, Septemeber 25, 2011.

Dawn Patrol Rendezvous Banquet

All Aces Over Wright Field attendees are also invited to attend the Dawn Patrol Rendezvous Banquet. The Dawn Patrol Rendezvous Banquet will be held in The National Museum of the United States Air Force on Saturday, September 24, 2011, from 6:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. The museum will be open to attendees of the Dawn Patrol Banquet. The cost of the Dawn Patrol Rendezvous Banquet is $25.00 per person.

Aces Over Wright Field Dinner

The Aces Over Wright Field Dinner will be held on Friday, September 23, 2011, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Quaker Steak & Lube in Beavercreek, Ohio. Dinner will be served buffet style and the main entree will be the Lube's signature buffalo wings. The cost to attend the Aces Over Wright Field Dinner is $9.99 per person.

Registration

The purpose of registration is to allow your Virtual Aces team to determine how many people would like to attend the Aces Over Wright Field Dinner, and the Dawn Patrol Rendezvous Banquet. It will also allow us to determine how many computers we will have for the LAN party at the hotel so that we can provide the necessary hardware. Registration will close on August 1, 2011. Once you register for Aces Over Wright Field you will be e-mailed a copy of the itinerary. The itinerary will include all of the details that you will require such as what time to be in the conference room at the Comfort Inn & Suites to set up, addresses for the hotel, museum, the restaurant, etc. [Registration Form]

Accommodations

The host hotel for the Aces Over Wright Field LAN party will be the Comfort Inn & Suites in Dayton, Ohio. When making your reservations at the Comfort Inn & Suites be sure to tell them that you are with the Virtual Aces group.
