x52

Unread post by Space »

So last night when I went in to the SEOW match, I found that my x-52 was not plugged in. I plug it in as normal, but no commands are getting through to the game. Software indicates that the x52 is working fine, but nothing happens in game.

So I uninstalled all of the Saitek programs and started over from square one.

Now with all of the original drivers and programs re-installed and updates installed over them (as recommended by Saitek) all I get is this 3-column thingy for the profiler. I suppose it is useable, but there is no 3-d model to lead me to all of the correct buttons. I can fly with it and use the throttle, but that is it. All other commands need to happen on the keyboard. Yes, I re-installed the Saitek magic keyboard/mouse/bus programs.

What gives? Where is the profiler I had before using these same installs? Most importantly, how can I get this thing working correctly?

For my peripherals, if I start them up after starting IL2, Il2 does not recognize them. I need to make sure all my peripherals are on and set for the correct profile before ever starting the game, else there is a very good chance (100% with track IR) that they will not work in game. It is an IL2 thing more then your JS or such.

Heya Wailwulf! I wish that were the case, but it appears not to be so. I get everything set like it is supposed to be and still nothing in game after several reboots, reloads etc. It is something with the profiler.

ps- thanks to Derring for trying to help me last night. I know he gave up his flying time and I really appreciate his efforts!

No idea if this is at all related or not, but I try to plug in my joystick onto the same USB port every time. If I plug it into a different port, the windows setup and software has to be redone and recalibrated cause it acts like a whole new joystick. Once its recalibrated and redone, it'll have to be plugged into that same usb from then on or risk redoing things all over again.

I had this problem when I updated to Win7. Last night I downloaded and installed Vista 64 bit software and everything is working great.

I went to Saitek and re-downloaded drivers and controller again. Then, next to the DOWNLOAD DRIVER button there is a DOWNLOAD SOFTWARE button that gives up the controller  SST_software_32_6_6_6_9  which I have installed now. The image on the controller does not rotate, but I can live with that. Looks like it works fine now, but have not tried it in combat yet because of other busy-work.
