Question: 4G or Fiber Optic?

Which is best for high end Online Gaming, 4G networks or Fiber Optic Networks?

From what I've learn Verizon has influence over both, but what's preferred for High End Online Gaming?

What does the community think?

I would think fiber optics Raz, 4G is wireless whick is used by phones from what I understand.

Yes that's true but the new internet service provide called Clear® will be operating of the 4G wireless network, so basically regardless of being a 4G network it's not as good as Fiber Optics due to the fact that it is hard wired.

Fiber optic is much quicker. My Verizon fios connection is 42 MB up and 32 MB down.

4G refers to 4th Generation cell phone/data specifications, not data tranfer speeds.

Verizon's hype of Fiber Optics is kinda BS because they were 'late to the game' in the business of TV distribution systems.

Generally, Cable or Telephone campanies that provide analog and 'digital' TV or data services use fiber optic distribution systems due to the inherent immunity of fiber optic cable to electromagnetic interference (e.g. lighting during a thunder storm) therefore greatly reducing data errors. Fiber optic cable does not emmit electromagnetic energy. I'll let you think about that.

Whether you use a Cable or Telephone company as your ISP depends upon the services available in your local area.
Up stream and down stream data transmission speeds may be 'packaged' dependant on your 'bandwidth' needs.

The only thing I'm skeptical about is that the analog Tv that comes through these coaxial cables are not updated or capable of handling True HD 1080p res, so I thought it may be the same for High Speed internet. Especially since Time Warner Cable and alike have very low upload speeds.

I do believe the Verizon network with FiOS is true, I've heard that some of the cables were rewired in certain cities that allow them to re-wire new fiber optical cables for FiOS, unfortunately I don't thin it's been done here yet.

Though it still makes since when it's wireless it's not that fast.

'Analog' TV is the old specification for the transmission of over-air and cable TV.
'Digital' TV is the new specification for the transmission of over-air and cable TV. 'Cable' is being used here as a general term, i.e. 'hard wired'. 'Digital' transmission use 'QAM', Quadrature Ampitude Modulation, when demodulated is then interperted as a 'digital' value (number) like MP3 data files (music), but contains video and sound data. "Digital' video may be distributed in a number of resolutions, standard digital (same as 'Analog' resolution), 720p, and 1080p High Density. This is not that different from the different resolutions available when viewing UTube videos or the setting of your computer monitor (display).

FiOS is Verizon's name for their 'digital' TV distribution system. Verizon will run a 'cable' into your house not a 'fiber optic cable', so it's not really all that different than a Cable company.

The distribution system is based on 'fiber optic cable', as are most Cable companies.

This service provider is not in my area yet I believe I can find one that can provide similar speeds.
