the annual joystick replacement
Ever since my first month of playing flight sims I have been using the Logitech 3D Xtreme Pro. While a very well designed, ergonomic stick it seriously fails in the materials used department and usually needs replacement after 6-9 months - although this time I lucked out and actually got 13 months of use out of it. For the first 4-5 sticks I paid full price for them, then I got wise and took out the $15, 3 year replacement warranty that "The Source" offers - I told the staff that the stick WILL fail and I would be back to replace it, no problem they said. In this day and age, I was amazed when they actually honoured it and the next three were free. The warranty ran out in mid 2009 and the one last August was full price, I once again paid the replacement fee and just swapped sticks again today.

Re: the annual joystick replacement
Its like my AMD chip.
I had a choice to buy it in the box or OEM.
I choose in the box because it came with a warranty (I paid $20 more)
I blew out my first chip because i over over clocked it (4.5 GHZ)
And they gave me a new one with only a "visual" inspection of the chip
Ahh its awsome.

What are you doing with it?
I got a Logitech Wingman in 1997, played RB2 then 3D with it till it broke in 2004. Then bought a Logitech Wingman Extreme for $60 NZ dollars and its still going strong! So out of the 6 years ive had it... (not a full 6 years use, Maybe 3-4) so. had alot of use.
They are a awesome stick.
