Public Service Announcement - This is not a joke!

S!~ All,

Recently we had something disturbing happen here in the small town of Anderson, Indiana. People are putting Draino, tin foil, and a little water in soda bottles and capping it up and leaving it on lawns. When you go to pick up the trash, and the bottle is shaken just a little, it builds up a gas and explodes with enough force to remove some of your extremities in about 30 seconds or less. The liquid that comes out is boiling hot as well. This can cause second and third degree burns.

The video below was taken right here in my home town;

This has also been reported in other states. People are finding these "bombs" in mailboxes and in their yards, just waiting for you to pick it up intending to put it in the trash. But, you'll never make it. Don't pick up any plastic bottles that may be lying in your yards or in the mailbox or the gutter, etc. If you send your kids out to play make sure that you check your yard first. And, share this information with them. Make sure that your children understand the danger involved.

Crazy kids... I used to make dry ice bombs(over 10 years ago) and throw them on people's lawns. But never with the intention of hurting someone. i just wanted to scare the crap out of them :shock: And I was successful muwhahaha.

You had some Hell raisers in your school. Glass bottles with acid and tin foil?! Ouch!

Saw a news report about these here in the SF bay area about 6-7 months ago.

The explosion in the video is the Bomb Squads explosive, as what they are doing is destroying the bottle before the chemical reaction of the foil and acid creates too much pressure that it bursts the bottle like an overly inflated tire.
