Please say that AVG has went with the UP 2.0 setup, I finally got everything transferred to that folder, thus , because it goes with practically everything, I was able to get rid of about 100gigs of the older stuff (namely the UI crap that was forever conflicting and leaving me off line and out of the loop. UP2.0 covers HSFX and most of the other servers plates, I am soo happy I was able to get back online and fly with just a coupla clicks instead of putting minuses her and renaming this, standing on my left foot while chewing a mars bar to fly online. Anyhow can someone give me some feedback on this, I look foward to the new year to being able to go back into combat with the greatest squadron of all time (not unlike Beyonces video, according to Kanye)

Well, I hate to be Mr. Poopypants, but I have completely given up on UP 2.0.


After the massive amounts of bugs and hassles I ran into with this thing, It's gonna take alot of convincing for me to install it for a third time.

I'm glad it's working for you, but it caused me nothing but headaches. And I'm not the only one.

What system are you running and how did you get it to work properly? I have tried the update patch after getting currupt files the first 6 or 7 tries. And did not work and then I spent 3 hours downloading the torrent for the complete install and still cannot get into WOW and I will be pissed if I can't fly Forgotten skies. I REALLY need help here. Someone please help me out of this mess.

Is WoW the only server you have tried? I have had troubles getting in there also, but can get into all other servers. I think Tiger has a little tiny bad file in there somewhere, but don't know enough to dare say so.

Alls I did was use 1.8 install on a 4.09m (not beta from AAA) and then patched it to 2.0. Yeah I had a few issues, but the biggest is you don't need all the older mods such as the AI mod, and carrie rmod, it is all built in and conflicts, the best remedy I found on that one was to just put new planes and maps in the folder, they even have the gore mod included. I actually flew online last night for the first time in 3 months and had no issues what so ever, and with the upgraded perfect maps it was like a whole new world, I believe FS is going the way of 2.0 and it has HSFX intigrated into it as well as an option to fly 4.09m standard. If need be, and you guys can't get a good link, I'd be willing to burn ALL the zip files onto a disk and mailem to ya. My system for right now is Vista, but I have the free upgrade, just slightly scared to get it. I spent a lot of time here http://il2ultrapack.net46.net/index.php

I'm with Decker here. I'd love to fly FS again, but not if I end up having to completely reinstall the game after this thing screws everything up.............AGAIN.

Corrupt file, a single freakin file bogs up the works.

So, I try to get that file sent to me, try to put it into the .rar but it'd take longer than I would take up of Space's bandwidth so I re-downloaded the first part to see if that fixed it.

Attempted the torrent but I don't want to wait 11 fucking hours to download the god damned sonofabitch mother-fucking full 2.0 file.

So fuck this, fuck FS, and ya'll have a nice day. Oh, and by proxy this also means fuck WoW as well.

LOL I am currently in the same boat...but that means I find a version that works. Just getting pissed and writing it off means I am essentially done flying. Everything we currently fly uses Ultrapack 2.0, and especially with them swallowing HSFX and making it compatible.

Derring might have stumbled onto it last night, or at least one thing that is holding some back. Since those of us that have troubles getting into FS set servers but not necessarily others, the trouble is apparently with one of those patches instead of with a basic game patch.

We think that the "Pappy installer" noted and linked to on the FS site is the culprit. Earlier downloads of that result in some problems, but later downloads appears to be ok. This is confirmed in that several pilots can get into servers ok except for WoW and FS, and those are using the same sets of mods. Before giving up, try re-doanloading and re-installing the small Chief / Map patch at http://www.forgottenskies.com/fsforum/v ... ?f=2&t=285 and see if that fixes things.

If you extracted FSModForUltraPack.zip into your game folder you do not need to select the 03_Forgotten_Skies option in JSGME. I shouldn't hurt but is redundant.

If you want to revert back to your original UP 2.0 (that is undo the installation/extraction of FSModForUltraPack.zip) do the following

1. Disable all JSGME add-ons (clear the right side of JSGME).

2. Delete the following folders

Files\maps\_Tex
Files\maps\vol_ItalyAfricaGreece

3. Download and extract the following file into your game folder.

This zip file contains just two files (chief.ini and all.ini) that over write the custom ones for Forgotten Skies.

This should restore the files overwritten by FSModForUltraPack.zip.

Note, that if you only fly in Forgotten Skies then it is best you leave your game as it is. This is only if you want to join CRT=2 servers that do not use these special FS files.
