Page loaded with errors so I couldn't find the story but I did see the slide show.

I don't know when that plane was raised but I've only heard of 1 SBD being pulled from the lake. It was on a train mission out of Chicago when it went down during the war. It was pulled out sevral years ago and was restored in Kalamazoo. It is still property of the US Navy so they are not allowed to fly it. But it was restored to flyable condition. I saw it during the restoration and then again once it was finished. Heres a pic of how it looks today

I don't think it is the same one because this story was dated this year. I believe just last month. But the story you are talking about sounds very similar to this one.
