In need of something to control my mouse ;)

Unread post by YOKE »

Ok , heres the steps and the problem I have...

1) 2 monitors are set up on my pc
2) start the image viewer to bring up the map Im flying
3) move the image over to the 2nd monitor
4) Start IL2 on monitor 1
5) I Loose mouse and can't scroll around map ( monitor 2 ) unless in-flight minimize IL2 on monitor 1 and move mouse over to map monitor .

any ideas or am I doing it way wrong ?

I use 2 monitors also but I can't move the map from the game to the 2nd monitor. I'll just open an image of the map before the game starts. Like in GS I'll use the map from their website.

A guy from Joint-ops showed me how I could move the mouse from the game without minimizing the game but that caused other problems . for one thing if I took a gunner spot I'd lose control of the gun because i'd move the mouse off the game screen. I'd have problems scanning the in game map because I'd move the mouse off the game screen. So I ended up reverting back to keeping the mouse locked to the game.

I also have two monitors. I can put a map up on the second screen. I also run my Teamspeak on my second monitor. But like you and Trouble I cannot use my mouse on the second screen while in game. No ideas here bud, sorry.

Sometimes it is absolutely necessary to kill a fly with a sledgehammer.

well , the easy work around I can do is a static stick indicator of some type placed on the monitor screen...
I could move that as I fly along .

( just stole a small snowflake from my front door )
(gel type window decoration .. works nice :)

Map size and detail is another thing I have to try to work around but that looks like it's going to be a trimmed plane and a second or so minimized game to get the map adjusted in flight if needed.

I've got the same problem.... i just ended up disconnecting the second monitor . I started wondering if it was stealing graphics power from the game..... that was before my new system though.
