I can host a game BUT I have a problem.

Unread post by Trouble4u »

I hope someone can help me out here. Tp host a game I have to forward a port on my router, Today I did this and it worked fine. But afterwards when I tryed to join a game I would get timed out and could not join. So I unforwarded the port and I was able to join the games again.

This would be a pain the ass to do this any time I want to host or join a game, any idea on what I need to do to so I can do both?

I may not be the best help but this is what I recommend :

Depending on what Router the setup would be different. I have more knowledge with a Linksys router.

First off, I recommend opening ports for Hyperlobby, because I Ran into a problem to no being able to host through there.

Do this by setting the port to 1698 For Hyperlobby. If you can, set it for both protocols UDP and TCP.

Next, do the same thing for IL-2. This time the port is will be 21000, set it for both protocols.

Now, make sure you make sure your ports are forwarded to the IP address that your computer is using on your Local Network

If your know your IP address on your local network then simply forward the ports to that.

If not simply goto your start menu, (For Vista and Windows 7 Users ONLY)Type in "cmd" and hit Enter. In the command prompt screen type in "ipconfig". This will bring up your IP info to your Local network by scrolling up and looking for IPv4. There you should you find your local IP on the local network.

Hopefully this information was helpful.
