Red Baron II Installation The original Red Baron II comes in a compressed file called rb2_DE.zip. To download the original Red Baron II Click here: Red Baron II To install Red Baron II create a file folder and extract the contents of the rb2_DE.zip file into the folder that you created. For this example I will be using a file folder named "RBII" in the Program Files directory. Once you have extracted the contents of the rb2_DE.zip file into the file folder that you created, run the SETUP.EXE file. When you run the setup.exe file installation will begin and you will hear the sound of an engine starting. Then, you will see a screen that looks like this: ![]() Click
"Yes" to confirm that you heard the sound and the installation
will continue. You will then see a screen that looks like this:
![]() Click
on "Weiter" to continue the installation ("Weiter" is German for
"Further", or in the context of the installation, "Continue").
|
Once you have confirmed that you want to continue the installation you will see a screen that looks like this:
![]() Select "Große Installation" and click "Weiter" to continue ("Große" is German for "Large").
Once you have confirmed that you would like the large installation by
clicking "Weiter" you will then see a screen that looks like this:
![]() This
screen is to confirm the folder that you want the program to be
installed in. The default is C:\SIERRA\RedBaronII. This is the folder
where you will want to install the program. Select "Weiter" to
continue.
|
Once
you have selected "Weiter" (above) the Red Baron II setup program will
begin the installation routine. This will take several minutes. While
Red Baron II is being installed you will see a screen that looks like
this:
![]()
When the installation routine is complete you will see a screen that looks like this:
![]() Select "OK" to confirm
installation of the "Indeo Video Interactive" program. The "Indeo Video
Interactive" program is required to play the video within the Red Baron
II game.
|
Once you have installed the "Indeo Video Interactive" program you will see a screen that looks like this:
![]() This
part of the installation routine is asking if you would like to
bookmark the Sierra web site in your internet browser. It is
recommended that you do not bookmark the site as the address has
changed. Select "KEINE Lesezeichen einrichten" for no bookmarks.
Now that you have confirmed that you do not want to bookmark the Sierra web site you will see a screen that looks like this:
![]() You
have successfully installed Red Baron II. Select "Beenden" to exit the
installation program. You may now delete the folder that you created
and unzipped the contents of the rb2_DE.zip file into (in my example,
it is the "RBII" folder).
