control panel, user accounts and family safety, user accounts, turn user account control on or off. uncheck the box and you will be prompted to restart your computer. I did it and everything is working great for me.

That's right basically for Vista users as I stated in the begining of this thread, though It's not always this problem.

For windows XP users you should have more freedom than Windows vista but to encounter a major problem on your end is not common, thus it being difficult for someone like me to distinguish that problem. However if these problems are in fact common, explain your symptoms, we'll compare it to others and lets see if the solution could resolve for everyone else.

I would like to thank you raz and everyone else that gave me a hand in getting my mods installed and working right. This proves we can all put our heads together and help each other work out our problems. We don't know it all individually but combined we can figure out just about anything.

What Operating system are you using?
Vista 64

When I downloaded one filefront mirror was busy, so I might have accidentally downloaded the same one twice (there were 2 filefront mirrors)

I'll monkey around with it this weekend and see what happens

Did you turn off your UAC?

Anyway I trust mirror 1 download from that one. Hopefully your not loosing packets when you download.

I know we have more who has 64 bit, recently redjoy booted up his new computer.
It was like yours OS Vista 64bit. We had a problem with his AAA install there was an discrepancy between the file path to the game and an alternate file path. I believe it goes something like this:
C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946
C:\Windows64\Program Files\Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946

Something like that any way that has something to do with the processor programs that can only run on 64bit as far as I know. This not entirely accurate for I am not one that has ever used 64 bit. I believe Warren could shed some light on this, in case you have installed in the wrong location.

Here's an ignorent question. I turned off the UAC on vista. restarted then reloaded files. Do I need to keep the UAC off in order for it to run or was that just to insure everything loaded completely?
