Next Campaign Suggestions

Post by Rebiv4 »

I have some suggestions for the next campaign if anyone is interested. I ended up getting more hours and I have my own clan to worry about so I won't be able to construct my own campaign for the squad like I wanted to.

I did a lot of research into the planes abilities and compared them so the planeset is as balanced as possible, so please consider these for the next one. I'll help as much as I can as I had a great time in the Manchuria campaign, and I believe with one of these 2, we could draw even more people into the fray!

Suggestions:

EUROPEAN

Normandy/Falaise Pocket, June 1944

This map always is popular because of the amazingly balanced planeset. It wouldn't be too realistic historically but plane wise it would be impeccably balanced compared to the unbalanced nature of Japanese/Allied aircraft. In my opinion, this should be the first consideration as it is the largest of the Western Front maps loaded in the game, it has the best planeset, and it's a change from the Japanese we just finished playing. I'm sure poke, warren, and tiger could get that map configured in only a few days.

ALLIED:

Me-210 CA-1 Zerstoerer, Ground Attack Bomber

PACIFIC

Burma 1942 (Summer '42, 23rd Fighter Group)
I know we had this before but actually working this time would be cool, with some more options like the hurricane and early spitfires. It doesn't have to be 100% realistic.

It's probably the best balanced fleet of craft we'll be able to get post-1941. The only other really balanced suggestion I could make would be a semi-historic Battle of Britain, but without a map covering Southern England, it's kind of difficult.

The normandy 44 looks promising. I've seen simular line-ups in different servers, and they work pretty good.

Just as a footnote, there is a very nice BOB map out there, but it's for 4.09. Might be a bit much to get enough people on board for this, but a few of us got what was needed and tried it out, VERY NICE. Here are the links if you are wondering:
MOD switcher

channel map

you also need these two files to make it work.

again it's a little involved, and might not be good for a campaign as such, but if you are interested, and wanna try it out we'll be ready.

Great planesets....one thing , though; could we include the A20G in one of those scenarios? it's got a more loadout options and 2 more .50cals in its snoot. 6 .50s will shred a Wirbelwind. The visibility may not be as good with the lack of a bombardier's station, but this crazy Beaver likes the extra forward firepower.
I'm also sorting out the details for a 'what if' scenario where the 1944 bomb plot had worked, ushering in a....shall we say, different set of alliances.
