Wings~of~War is back!

Unread post by Tiger »

Wings~of~War is back and better than ever! Your favorite tournament features all of the things that you have come to expect from Wings~of~War and more. The campaigns will once again run for an entire week with epic battles 24 hours a day. The new and improved Wings~of~War campaigns will be flown in IL-2 Sturmovik: 1946 4.11.1m with HSFX 6 in Expert Mode. All Wings~of~War campaigns will feature moving objects using the IL-2 Dedicated Server software and Lowengrin's Dynamic Campaign Generator. The IL-2 Dedicated Server and statistics will be managed using IL-2 Server Commander.

Some of the new features include:

Automated Registration: Registration is now instantaneous. You can register at any point during the campaign and join the fight immediately. As in previous campaigns, you can only join the side for which you have registered. Once you join the server you must log in. The command is <logon<pass (where "pass" is your password).

Action Reports: IL-2 Server Commander keeps you up-to-date with real time reporting. Messages appear in the server chat to inform players about the battle unfolding in the server such as "WARNING RED: Ground units are under attack in O6" and "WARNING: Blue Team is losing planes in M8."

Aircraft Limitations: The Dynamic Campaign Generator assigns a limit to each type of aircraft for each mission which is passed to the IL-2 Server Commander. You can see which types and quantities of available aircraft by typing <planes in the server chat.

Detailed Statistics: The new IL-2 Server Commander Statistics Module is more robust and features much more detail than the FB Daemon II Statistics Module. The IL-2 Server Commander Statistics Module has been modified to include a cumulative score for each pilot on the "Overall Statistics" page, and to include a score for each sortie for each pilot on the "All Sorties" section of the "Pilot Statistics" page.

Collision Detection: The IL-2 Server Commander software can detect a collision so that you won't have to suffer the death kick if you and a teammate collide on the ground.

The new and improved Wings~of~War promises to be more intense than ever. So, download and install HSFX 6 and get ready for some of the most extreme aerial combat IL-2 Sturmovik: 1946 has to offer. I will be scheduling the first campaign very soon. Look for the official announcement in the next few weeks.

~S~ Tiger

Unless my eyes, which are getting older by the second, didn't see it, there's no start date for the Manchuria event. Would you mind posting that when it's known, please. Thanks

S!~ Sir,

Thank you for your interest in the event. The problem is not your aging eyes. I will be posting and e-mailing a start date in just a couple of weeks. There are a couple of things left for me to work out and then we'll be good to go.
