How do you add new skins and

where the heck is the plane folder?

The folder is .....

"YOUR HARD DRIVE LETTER HERE":\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\PaintSchemes\Skins

or any other name you have the game called ... ( for multiple installs )

but bottom line , inside the Skins folder are all the planes and their respective paints.

Thanks Yoke, found that but all that was in there were paint templates so wasnt sure if that was it or not. Now there are several P47s listed but SP game mission gives me no option to use a different scheme are the extra for Mission Builder? And say IF I wanted to fly my own paint scheme in an MP game how do I go about that?

99% of the time i'm in stock skins so I am not of much help here.
I can only guess answers that of some of the skins you see in the folders already are written in for single player missions or career games not for quick missions. personal skins I believe once you add them you can use them in mp games provided the server allows skins.Sorry not much info to give ya

Not that I know anything but my understanding is for custom skins, copy the paint that is called "void" and do your painting on that copy, then rename it whatever you want. Most peeps use Paintshop or something similar so they can have some transparency, oil streaks, etc.
