Ok thx, Ive downloaded the game but guess I need help with just getting it open. I use win7/64bit, where do I extract to?

OK, when you run the setup it should install it on C:\Program Files (X86)\Ubisoft\IL-2 Strumovik 1946

The link Deck Posted should have all the info you'll need to patch the game up to UP2.01.

Since you downloaded it I think it should be version 4.08m but make sure that it says that on the loading screen after the install. And as you go through the steps check each time by running the game to make sure the load screen says the right version.

On your desktop create a folder labled 4.09 and download the 4.09 patch into it. also make a folder labled 2.01 and download all parts(and only parts) for UP2.01 in it(will be 9 parts) then create a folder labled D2D Patch download that patch to that folder. send me a pm with a time you can meet and I will get with you later to do your installs. You will need a bit torrent client before opening the file at the Full Installer link (above). If you don't already have a bit torrent client give uTorrent a try (http://www.utorrent.com/). After installing a bit torrent client simply download and open the up201.torrent file (in the above link). Once the torrent download is complete open the folder that the Ultr@Pack 2.01 install files where store in (in uTorrent this is done by right clicking on the UP201 entry and select the "Open Containing Folder" menu option). Double click on UltraPack201_Client.exe to start the installation process. Use the Change button (in the Choose Destination Location dialog box) to select your IL-2 game folder and continue with the installation.

I'm headin out to celibrate new years watching the Wings vs the Islanders so I won't be around till Saturday afternoon sometime.
