Hyperlobby

Unread post by Max Galland »

S!

Gentlemen, I am trying to get to the point I can fly with you. Lates issue is that my hyperlobby doesn't connect. Thanks to Derring it has been established I am running an outdated version. Plus he pointed out that I may have to install it to a different location since I am running 64 bit Vista. Any assistance would be appreciated. Such as if this is correct and if so the location to install it to.

Thank you,

Max

I do not have the Vista OS.
This is what I told Max.
Can anyone confirm or correct this information.
Thanks.

Vista Installation
1) Make sure you have installed the lasted version of HyperLobby
2) Do not install IL2 in the default installation path of 'C:\ProgramFiles( x86 )\Ubisoft\...'
3) Instead install to a path such as 'C:\IL2\Ubisoft\...'

Vista does not allow "'program and data files' to be mixed in the 'ProgramFiles( x86 )' folder", so Vista does not install UP2.01 MODs properly. Vista considers the UP2.01 MODs install to be 'Data' so it acutually places the files in some 'bizarre' location related to the 'C:\ProgramFiles( x86 )\Ubisoft\...' folder.

I think this info is correct, but you should confirm this with other members of AVG. Decker or Warren may be of some help on this matter. There may also be relevant post on the forum.

Hold the phone! Do you think this is true for Server 2008 as well? That might explain why I can't get the server to run correctly. It is certainly a distinct difference from Server 2003. If this is true for Server 2008, then we might have just found a solution.

When I did my stuff I created a folder in my "C" drive called games and had a path of c,program files,games,ubisoft,IL-2. And then installed my game there. for hyperlobby I created a folder inside my games folder called hyperlobby and installed there. With vista you also need to run your hyperlobby as admin. With vista I set all my gaming stuff to "run as admin". If you need I can meet you in teamspeak. Do you need any links for hyperlobby,teamspeak2,teamspeak 3 etc.. if so, pm me or let me know when to meet you in teaspeak.
