If you're a smoker you're going to want to read this...

S!~ All,
I just found out today what they are doing to our cigarettes to make them "Fire Safe" and you are not going to believe this. Those "speed bumps" are actually Ethyl Vinyl Acetate (EVA), which is plastic! It seems that the FDA has expanded their definition of "paper" to include EVA so that it can be added to cigarettes to make them self-extinguishing. Vinyl will extinguish itself when burned, so I see why it was used, except for the fact that it is being ingested by human beings. Advocates would have you believe that the substance is "not much more dangerous than tobacco" but that is complete bullshit.
Let me tell you how serious I feel about this issue; I have been a smoker for over three decades, but now that I have learned what they are putting in our cigarettes to make them "Fire Safe" I'm done. Sure, I'll have a cigar once in a while, since I enjoy my tobacco, but now that I know they are putting EVA in our cigarettes I'll never smoke one again.
