Re: UP3.0 thoughts
I get on Hyperlobby today and I see folks downing it now after looking on both the UP and SAS forums to " hurry up, can't wait much, how long must we wait" and now I hear it's not all it's cracked up to be. My goodness these guys are nothing but babies.
UP 3.0 has a feature that we have been wishing for and it has finally been created for use in the IL-2 world.
In a online Dogfight Multi-player environment we have the ability host other players to board my bomber and have them act as crew on board my bombers as well as gunners, and fly them from base to target, target to base, with human gunners on board. Emphasis on human, not AI but human gunners.
E,g. If Skies of Valor adopted this feature, that means with Screwball as the pilot, Alpha, American and I could join Screwball's bomber and operate his gunners for him. All thanks to the Zuti's 1.2 MDS
Why didn't HSFX wait for, it I don't know, but UP has it and If not mistaken it may as well be available with the Ghosts skies Event, not sure just speculating.

Hmmm. Real humans instead of gun monkeys...I can live with that. This also means that with a UP3 install on another machine on your home network, you can now bring your wife/girlfriend/mistress and/or kids and/or other relatives with you. Ah, the possibilities...take your nonflying friends on a virtual 'white knuckle air tour' *cackles maniacally* OK, shutting up now.

Re: UP3.0 thoughts
I like it because I have Zuti 1.2. I've already had the Vietnam Package and the 1956 Jets in another installation, that new way of starting the game is just terrible, why couldn't they have just kept it simple?
HSFX for some reason didn't and still doesn't have Zuti 1.2 , man American you can plot your own spawn points now, Aviar done so in that MiGs Vs Sabres Server. I haven't done so but I'm going to see how. Yeah Zuti have revolutionized this game man, open far more opportunities to be more of an effective map maker.

Re: UP3.0 thoughts
Guys:
For those of you not fully happy with UP3, please remember that this is the RC version.
They have not included all the updated FM/DM nor some of the new bells and whistles in this. The final debugged version is supposed to be out in a month or so.
Until them let's just play the shit out of this mod and let's see what bugs we can find. That is what the UP30 developers are hoping for.
This pack may not be exactly what each of us wanted, but for a free upgrade to a 10 year old game it is pretty sweet. You have to make these things appeal to the greatest group, and that means that some compromises are required.
Also, make sure you post over at Ultrapack AND SAS, thanking these guys for their efforts.

Re: UP3.0 thoughts
The one and only issue I've had with UP3 is I cannot seem to enter a server via Hyperlobby. Direct IP connections work with zero hassle; have I whoopsed on which executable I point Hyperlobby to, or is anyone else experiencing this?
