After building a freetrack system I was also seasick trying to use it at first. The defaults are functional but not human centric.
I dont know how the track IR interface works, but I have heard that both it and freetrack are very similar. You have curves that you can adjust to create a deadzone. I have mine set up to snap and hold my view into the neutral or forward view when my head is close to center.
My curve chart reads 0-50 (in "inches?") on the left and 0-180 degrees on the bottom of the graph. From 0 to 2 degrees my curve is very steep with a rounding out up to around 3-5in and then linear path out to 50" and 180 degrees. I have this set for all axis in both rotation and translation. I was able to copy and paste the curves by right clicking on a curve setting that I liked.
Ref attached jpg file.
Once you have your curves set, you will need to tweak sensitivity and smoothing. I set my yaw to 1.5 and use 1 for the pitch. Roll is nice once you get used to it; dial it way back, mine is set to (.5). Smoothing set to 140 for all.
XYZ axis for 6DOF are set to 1,2,1 respectively. Smoothing is 150.

Re: Happy valentines day to me!
Change your hat switch to useful functions.
If I push mine forward I zoom in to gunsight view, if I pull back it is widescreen. In external view servers if I push it to the left it padlocks enemy air, if I push to the right it padlocks enemy ground. For no externals, perhaps use it as next seat and pilot seat so you can hop around from seat to seat and get back to the pilot asap if needed
