RAF in WOW

Unread post by RAF_Keener »

S! =AVG=,

I just wanted to stop by and give a big salute to your crew for first being a great bunch of guys to fly with and 2nd for the effort you put into our community and into campaigns like this. We the RAF intend to support the Allied forces (we're registered red) and hopefully fly alongside your skilled AVG pilots. I will be a good point of contact for this campaign between the RAF and AVG as would Grit also be a great contact point.

I have a few questions in preparation for this event:

1. Since most of us RAF guys flew with you in the campaign in Normandy, It appears that we're already registerd. I believe I know the answer to this before I ask it but.... will we need to re-reregister for this campaign? I saw the list in another thread and I assume since i'm on that list that you've already taken care of me and my squad. Thanks for that.

2. Is there a thread where we can download some sort of briefing for the mission? I see the thread that gives the outline of the rules of engagement: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=2940 What I can't remember is if you provide a mission brieffing for us so that we may prepare for any given mission.

3. If a pilot registers incorrecly, what shall we do?

I'm looking forward to flying alongside you AVG boys. We have a RAF signup sheet on our website and should consider coordinating our efforts if you guys are interested. Soon we'll know how deep our ranks are going to be and I'll check back with you. S!

Thanks again.

Keener

S!~ Sir,

We are pleased that you will be joining us for North Africa 1943. Below are the answers to your questions;

Participants need to register for each event seperately. Registration is used to balance the sides for each campaign. And, in the future, registration will be completely automated so that your callsign will be added to the playerlist.txt file. So, I'd like to get everyone in the habit of registering for each campaign. However, I would like to point out while we're on the topic that you do not need to register again for the Redoux.

The campaign is dynamic, so there's no way to tell from one mission to the next what the objective should be. However, at the beginning of each 2 hour session there will be a briefing that is created by the Dynamic Campaign Generator (DCG). This briefing gives the player a general idea of what is going on in the server at any given time.

In the event that a pilot enters the wrong callsign you can sned me an e-mail, PM, or post on the Wings~of~War forum and we'll get the problem corrected as soon as possible.

One thing I should note is that this will be the first Wings~of~War that utilizes Moving Dogfight Server (MDS), and I have been amazed as I play tested the server. The moving vehicles cause the front lines to move in real time, and the immersion factor is incredible.
