well, sadly, the computer has given up the ghost
so I'll be down for a (????) amount of time.
On the plus side, I pulled the plug on a completly new machine.

Dude! When a computer dies it sucks! But I am very giddy to hear you are building a new machine, make sure to post up the specs.

Re: Unscheduled Downtime
quality parts and a case with good airflow is the key...i've had mine since sept 2009 core2quad 2.83ghz OC to 3.5 the hole time...been as high as 3.89 playing around stable.. ati 4870x2 over clocked 50mhz on GPU and 30 on ram and still no problems...but then again a case built with 6 120MM fans and 1 210MM in the top gets alot of cooling airflow. only downside is the vido card sounds like a hair dryer.
