Game

IL2 4.09m
HSFX 4.1(http://www.242sqn.com/phpBB2/viewforum.php?f=30)

Battle map

Available from file transfers on FA or AKA Teamspeak.

ModPack

AKAFA_NGNB_ModA.rar available if FA or AKA bunkers.

Stats

Server Requirements

1. HSFX History Mod
2. Zuti Moving DF ver 1.12

The campaign is controlled by two programs the mission generator and the server controller. The mission generator reads the campaign files and eventlog from the last mission and then moves objects, aircraft etc around the map. In general blue objects move towards red objects and red objects move towards blue objects along routes between locations on the map.

Supply Missions

Supply missions are using cargo aircraft from non suppressed bases carrying fuel and supplies to the base you land at or to the location where you drop the supplies by toggling wingtip smoke. Supplies and fuel can be picked up from any non suppressed base or the supply base by using the default load out. If you do not want to take supplies from a base use the empty load out. Supplies will be removed from the base you fly a supply mission from and moved to the base you deliver them to following the mission.

Infantry Missions

There are two types of infantry missions, those where that pick up infantry from a location and those that do not. Infantry missions are flown by using the cargo aircraft with the Para load out. If there are infantry units available to be picked up they will be picked up when you spawn in.

Flights with Troops loaded These are simple to understand, the troops you pick up are moved from where you picked them up to the location you land or where you drop them. The move takes place after the mission when the next mission is generated.

Flights without Troops Loaded These missions are used to capture locations or prevent the capture of a location that has no troops. Fly your aircraft to the location and drop paratroops, at the end of the mission the number of flight flown by each side is compared, the side with the most number of para drops at the location. captures it. If the number of flights by each side is equal the location remains as it was at the start of the mission.

Overview

The campaign is controlled by two programs the mission generator and the server controller. The mission generator reads the campaign files and eventlog from the last mission and then moves objects, aircraft etc around the map. In general blue objects move towards red objects and red objects move towards blue objects along routes between locations on the map.

Locations

Locations are points on the map connected by routes. The location might be an airfield, town, crossroads, train station, harbour or a spot in the middle of the ocean. They are usually spaced at a distance that can be covered during the mission. Each location on a road has troops, supplies and fuel associated with it.

Troops/Capturing: The troop count at each comes from static objects such as AAA and moveable objects such as car and tank columns. The side a location is assigned to depends on the number of troops from each side that are at the location. The contested level is set to 20%, so if both sides have more than 20% of the troops at a base then the location is contested. If the Red side has more than 20% and the Blue side has less tan 20% then the location is Red. If the Blue side has more than 20% and the Red side has less than 20% then the location is Blue.

Supplies: The maximum amount of supplies at a location is determined by the structures there. As the amount of supplies at a location increase more of the structures are shown in the mission, if a structure is destroyed the supplies it holds are lost. Supplies are used to rebuild static objects such as AAA at that location and to determine if aircraft flying from a base can carry ordinance. Supplies are delivered to locations by car columns, trains and ships.

Fuel: The number of fuel storage tanks at each location determines the maximum amount of fuel that can be stored at a location. As the amount of fuel increases more fuel tanks are shown in the mission, if a fuel tank is destroyed the fuel held by it is lost. Fuel is used to move car and tank columns to the next location and to determine how much fuel aircraft flying from a base can take.

Base Suppression: A base is suppressed when the supplies there fall below a set level and the base is within a set range of an enemy or contested location. When suppressed aircraft flying from a location can only use the empty or default loadout

Fuel Suppression: A base is fuel suppressed when the fuel there falls below a set level and the base is within a set range of an enemy or contested location. When fuel suppressed aircraft flying from that location can only carry limited fuel.

Aircraft

At the start of the campaign aircraft are distributed across the map. Each time a pilot flies an aircraft out of a base that aircraft is removed from the inventory of that base. When the aircraft is landed at a base the aircraft is added to the inventory of that base. Pilots who disconnect have their aircraft returned to the base they took off from. When a static aircraft is destroyed at a base that aircraft is removed from the inventory of that base. If a base is captured or contested all the aircraft at that base are lost.

Supply Bases: Each side has one supply base usually some distance from the front line. The inventory at the base is automatically topped up every mission by a set amount for each aircraft type. There are max and mins for each supply base. As the campaign progresses pilots will need to move aircraft from the supply bases to forward bases.

Load Outs: As well as the limits set by suppressions some aircraft have ordinance that is not allowed. Some campaigns have a fuel limit set of the entire map.

Infantry missions pick up troops from the base you takeoff from and move to the base you land at or the location you drop them at. Bases that have troops available are shown on the campaign map and in the briefing screen of the mission. You pick up troops in aircraft that have the "para" load out available, you will receive a message saying that they are loaded. Para drops are simulated by using wing-tip smoke at the location where you want to drop them. You can also move infantry to a friendly base by landing at it. Each infantry unit can only be moved once per mission.

If your cargo aircraft does not have 'para' loadout you can pick up troops from bases that have infantry units there. Spawn in with the default load, wait until you get the OK message for takeoff and then use the <load_troops command to 'All' or 'server', if infantry are available you will get a message saying the troops are loaded. These troops cannot be dropped they can only be landed at a friendy base to reenforce it.

Spawn Deaths

Deaths and aircraft loses caused by collisions on the ground before takeoff are not scored, the messages are removed from the eventlog.

Server Commands

You can use these commands during a mission, send them to 'all' or 'server':

<aircraft – lists the types and numbers of aircraft available at the base you are at or took off from.

<status – gives the time in flight and time remaining in the mission

<timeleft – gives the time until the mission ends

<home – hit wingtip smoke wait 15 sec and then use this command for the heading at distance to the base you took off from

<help - lists the commands
