For the last several months I have been honored with command of the American Volunteer Group. Since that was an appointed position rather than elected, one of the my conditions to Tiger was that the position would be put up for popular vote come the new year.

My plan is to open elections on the 1st of January, with all eligible candidates being on the ballot. This list includes Tiger, Razgriz_37, Warren and Space, all eligible from having held Group level positions prior to this election, per our bylaws.

I will leave the elections open for 2 weeks until the 15th of January. During this time I would encourage all AVG to question any and all of the potential candidates as to the direction they would take the AVG during their term as Commander.

My vote is for Scrotie McBoogerballs.

While I am certain that all of the candidates mentioned above would do well in the position, I felt that Space would do the best job of all long term. This is the reason that I appointed him CO of the group. I withdraw from the election and give my endorsement to SpaceGnome. It's time to let someone else have the opportunity to command this group for a while.

I put this up for discussion at the staff meeting along with the possibility of including all squadron COs, but that was not favored by those present. We went with the bylaws as written.
